The surroundings
Casa Mumu sits along a quiet white road, surrounded by a young olive grove with the Apennines in the distance. In the evening you'll hear owls calling, and on warm summer nights fireflies dance through the garden.
Walking and cycling routes to picturesque villages start right at the front door. Five minutes away lies Castelletto d'Erro with Il Bo Russ, a simple local restaurant; the other way you'll find Bistagno with a bakery, butcher and greengrocer. A quarter of an hour's drive brings you to the lively town of Acqui Terme, with plenty of restaurants, a lovely market twice a week and surrounded by famous wine regions. For authentic Piemontese dishes, Il Giardinetto in nearby Sessame is well worth a visit. In autumn this is also white truffle country — who knows, there may be hidden truffles waiting under the oak trees by the house.

Owner of Casa Mumu and a lover of the nature surrounding the house. Usually replies within a few hours.
The story
Proud owner of Casa Mumu, a biologist and passionate lover of the wild orchids that grow abundantly around the house. Over the past few years, Raoul has worked hard to make the house and its surroundings even more beautiful.
The house used to be a simple farmhouse for growers who cultivated grapes on the terraces. A number of mulberry trees also stood here — "mumu" in Piedmontese — hence the name Casa Mumu. Now it's a beautiful villa, with a lovely pool and a wonderful base for long walks, wildflower hunts, and visits to the best restaurants. And where the vines once stood, olive trees now grow, which will hopefully yield many litres of olive oil in the years to come.
"Piemonte is so beautiful, and Casa Mumu is such a lovely house. It's wonderful to read a book in the garden, take a swim, hop on a bike or go for a long walk — and then enjoy a fantastic meal at a small local restaurant. I thoroughly enjoy the nature around the house."
— Raoul, owner of Casa Mumu
